Join Barbara Saunders for an introductory to intermediate class and practice the most useful oil painting methods and materials. Emphasis will be placed on the use of the Prismatic palette in managing the strong pigments found in oil media. The use of color and value to achieve perspective, shape and scale will be demonstrated and practiced. The class will first spend time in the gardens to sketch and then move to the classroom to complete the painting. All paint will be provided. Students are responsible for some supplies; please see the supply list below.

- Canvas (16”x20” or smaller)
- Three different size brushes
- Roll of paper towels or a cloth
- Hand wipes
- Apron
- Gloves (optional)
About the Instructor
Barbara Crispino Saunders began her formal fine art education during her Master’s work at Ithaca College in NY. She has been studying painting under some of the most internationally recognized master painters for over 30 years, evolving to oil for its luminosity, strong pigments and forgiving nature. Her work is found in galleries in NY and Florida and held in private collections throughout the US. A Florida certified elementary teacher, and former OMAM curator, Barbara’s history has included decades of fine art instruction for children and adults.
