Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 | 2:00-3:30pm
In this session of ArtWave, ages 11 to 14 are invited to join us in the OMAM Classroom to create a watercolor landscape inspired by artist J.M.W. Turner, and learn about horizon line, color theory, and composition.
With this watercolor piece, we will focus more on the general shapes, forms, colors, and suggestions of objects, rather than the fine details, just like Turner. We will talk about how this was revolutionary for his time, and how we can achieve an emotion inspiring piece with just the suggestion of the wildlife in the landscapes.
Tuition for this 90-minute program includes all supplies. Seats are limited, so signing up in advance is highly encouraged!
Registration will close when workshop is full.
About the Instructor

Emma Dennison earned a master's degree in Critical Museum Studies from the University of Florida and a bachelor's in Studio Art from Stetson University. She grew up in a little town near Pittsburgh, but immediately fell in love with Ormond Beach after her family relocated to Florida a few years ago. Before joining the OMAM staff in May 2025, she completed a 240-hour internship here and also helped as an instructor during the museum's summer youth art camps.
