Description

Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025 | 9:00am - 5:00pm

Join us on a bus tour to Orlando with Ruth Grim, OMAM guest curator, to experience a couple of our neighboring city’s premier arts institutions. In addition to their permanent collection installations and other featured exhibitions. OMA will have To Catch a Dream: Florida Watercolor Society’s 54th Annual Exhibition, an event that never fails to surprise and impress with the incredible quality of the works submitted by some of our state’s best artists working today. Marvel at examples ranging from nearly photorealist images to more Expressionist works that celebrate the Florida lifestyle while highlighting the incredible skill of these accomplished artists.

After our tour of OMA and lunch at one of the many good restaurants in the area, we’ll cross to the other side of the park to visit the Mennello Museum of Art to view their Our Collection: Women Artists, a Force in American Art which features a notable selection of women artists spanning 100 years and is a testament to the Mennello’s commitment to the story of American art. More temporary exhibitions and permanent collection displays will be available as well as the museum’s delightful Sculpture Garden which has major works by 20th century American sculptors complemented by fine views of Lake Formosa.

Our chartered bus will depart from OMAM promptly at 9:00am and will return to OMAM by 5:00pm. The (non-refundable) trip registration fee ($45 OMAM Museum/Guild members; $55 Future Members) covers transportation and Ruth's discussions. Participants are responsible for paying for their own meals, admissions, and other expenses. Since Orlando Museum of Art and Mennello Museum of American Art are both part of the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Association, our museum's premier-level members are able show their current OMAM Membership Card and receive free admission to both museums. Those without NARM benefits will need to pay admission to each institution upon arrival (OMA is $20 for adults or $12 for ages 60+; MMAA is $8 for adults or $5 for ages 60+). With valid ID, active-duty military members and U.S. veterans can receive free admissions at both Orlando museum.
