Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025 | 11:00am - 12:30pm
Learn the fundamentals of photo composition in this hands-on class with award-winning photographer Suzanne McCarthy. Participants of all levels will explore principles such as framing, perspective, and balance, then put these concepts into practice by photographing in the museum’s gardens. Please bring a DSLR or cell phone camera. Each participant will have the opportunity to print one of their images, taking home a finished piece of their own artwork.
This FREE program is open to all U.S. veterans and active-duty personnel. A spouse or other family member (age 16 or older) may take the workshop with their military member, but all participants must register in advance.

About the Instructor

Suzanne McCarthy is an award-winning photographer and photo editor based in Ormond Beach, specializing in portrait, editorial, and fine art photography. A freelance photojournalist for The Ormond Beach Observer, she captures local events with a focus on storytelling. Her work has been featured in numerous juried exhibitions across Central Florida and in local galleries, including recognition from the Southeast Museum of Photography. She is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and the Professional Photographers of America.
