Sumi-e means Ink Painting in Japanese. This beloved and ancient art form was practiced by Buddhist monks as a form of meditation and continues to grow in popularity worldwide. Using traditional brushes and ink, students will create images of cherry blossoms. All materials are included.

About the Instructor
Fontaine Rodgers holds a BFA from the Maryland Institute, College of Art and is both artist and educator. Her extensive teaching experience includes classes at The Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, The Museum of Art-DeLand, The SOBO Gallery in Winter Garden and 16 years as an International Baccalaureate Art Teacher. She is a member of the Sumi-e Society of America and the President of the Central Florida Printmakers.
