This workshop is an inspiring guided opportunity to use the arts for self-care. For anyone experiencing grief - the complex, natural emotional, physical, and cognitive response to a significant loss. Be it the loss of a loved one, a beloved pet, a job, a relationship, or many others. Participants will engage in activities that allow for support and creative expression, and they will build together tools to help them move forward while navigating life after loss. These activities focus on play and imagination, using various types of collage, painting, sculpture, writing, colors and music. No artistic experience necessary. All supplies provided.

Registration will close when the program is full.

About the Instructor

Through more than 20 years of experience, Monica Vidal has developed her own ways to help individuals reconnect with their essence to find long-lasting life balance. Originally from São Paulo, Brazil, she brings a culturally rich approach to creative healing and emotional well-being. As an MA in Happiness Studies, Monica explores how societal expectations shape mental health. Her talk “Are We Happy Yet?” reflects her passion for empowering individuals to break free from external pressures and define happiness for themselves. Her Grief Workshop Art it Through aims to guide participants to create their own tools to navigate life with grief. It emphasizes the importance of acknowledging and embracing it. Through gentle, yet intensive work, the group will discuss the challenges of their own journey, in a safe and supporting environment, and use creative supplies as an expressive vessel that will carry them through their path.
