Certified Bob Ross instructor Heather Alimonti will teach students the signature Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet style of oil painting, where wet paint is applied over a wet base coat of liquid white, black, clear, or black gesso. Working in layers from background to foreground, you’ll follow along in a structured, step-by-step process, using official Bob Ross brushes and paints, learning the correct methods of loading and holding the brushes, creating fluffy clouds, water reflections, happy evergreens, and mountains.
Mindfulness takes the stage as you let go of any fears of making mistakes and enjoy the process. You’ll take home a completed landscape scene on an official Bob Ross canvas, a certificate of instruction, and a photo op with a life-size cut out of the painter himself! Emphasis is on a relaxed, calm atmosphere where “happy accidents” are encouraged.
This class will paint “Autumn Woods” on a 12x16 canvas featured in the Joy of Painting, Series 10, Episode 6. This is for all levels of artists, even if you’ve never painted before. All painting supplies are provided. Students are asked to bring their own roll of paper towels.
Seats are limited. Registration will close when workshop is full.
About the Instructor
"I grew up watching the joy of painting on PBS, and Bob Ross‘s calm encouragement, planted the earliest seeds of my artistic journey after turning 40 hits familiar reminder - “You can do this. You can do anything.” - finally inspired me to pursue art more seriously. In 2024 I completed the intensive 120-hour Teacher Certification program at his original workshop in New Smyrna Beach. I now teach private painting lessons throughout Volusia County, guiding student step-by-step in the classic wet-on-wet style. With limited landscape instruction available locally, many are delighted to discover a Certified Bob Ross Instructor in their own community!"
