Sunflower Colored Pencil Workshop with Kathi Darby
Summary
In this colored pencil workshop instructed by Kathi Darby, students will focus on layering, shading, complementary colors, and learn to use a solvent (optional). Students are responsible for most supplies; please see the supply list below. This workshop is appropriate for beginner-intermediate students.

SUPPLY LIST:
1) COLORED PENCILS (Prismacolor recommended):
- Yellows: Canary yellow, lemon yellow, yellow ochre, goldenrod
- Oranges: Cadmium orange (or orange), Spanish orange, pumpkin orange
- Browns: Light umber, chocolate, chestnut, dark brown or dark umber
- Greens: Olive, true green, spring green, dark green, peacock green, yellowed chartreuse (or chartreuse)
- Blues: Light cerulean blue, powder or cloud blue, true blue, Mediteranian blue.
- Neutrals: Medium gray, black grape, white
(Other colors may be substituted, and we can mix some of these if needed)
2) OTHER ITEMS:
Pencil sharpener, several erasers (gum, battery, plastic), a sheet of transfer paper and blenders (colorless blender, stumps, tortillons, cotton swabs). If you wish to use a solvent, either odorless mineral spirits or Gamsol would be best, along with a small cheap brush (1/4" watercolor flat is perfect) or a cotton swab for application. It would also be helpful to have a separate sheet to test colors.
