In this colored pencil workshop instructed by Kathi Darby, students will focus on working on a black background, using a limited palette, and learning new transfer methods. Students are responsible for most supplies; please see the supply list below. The instructor will provide a line drawing, reference photos and, if needed, transfer paper. This workshop is appropriate for beginner-intermediate students. Registration Deadline: 3pm January 17.
Tuition: $33 members / $37 future members
Supply List:
1) Prismacolor pencils: White, eggshell, cream, yellow ochre, goldenrod, light umber, dark umber, chocolate, black, 10% cool gray, 30% warm gray, 70% cool gray, any other grays you may have.
2) Black paper: Suggested - Artagain black, Black Black, Uart sanded black (500 grit or 800 grit), pastelmat black, stonehenge black, or any dark black paper.
3) Other supplies: Sharpeners, blenders, erasers, white or gray transfer paper, OR chalk. No solvents or lightboxes needed for this project.
